Laser Skin Treatments
What are laser skin treatments?
Laser treatments are less invasive ways to improve skin conditions.
We specialize in multiple laser offerings:
MOXI™, Halo™, TRIBRID™
ProFractional™ Laser Treatments
Micro Laser Peel™
Skin Firming/SkinTyte® (performed with BBL™)
Fractora
PIGMENT + REFRESH
MOXI
A lighter resurfacing plan for patients beginning to notice changes in tone and texture. With less downtime than our more corrective options, U Plan MOXI addresses visible pigment and overall skin quality. Ideal for patients in their 30s and 40s, or those who want more than BBL® alone without the downtime of deeper resurfacing.
-
MOXI® uses a 1927 nm wavelength that is particularly effective for addressing visible pigment, uneven tone, and the earliest signs of aging. It’s also an ideal choice for anyone with healthy, balanced skin who wants to maintain it. Think of it as a gentle refresh paired with focused pigment correction.
-
MOXI is gentle by design. Most patients describe mild warmth during the treatment, and there's little to no downtime afterward. Because of that, it's easy to build into your regular routine, most patients complete a series of a few sessions spaced several weeks apart to build and maintain results over time.
-
You’ll likely notice brighter, more even-toned skin with a smoother texture. Results build gradually with each session, making MOXI® an ideal part of an ongoing skincare plan rather than a one-time correction.
CORRECT + REJUVENATE
HALO
A deeper resurfacing plan for patients ready to address sun damage, uneven tone, textural irregularities, and early signs of aging. Using two wavelengths to treat both the skin's surface and deeper layers, U Plan HALO® stimulates collagen while improving overall tone and firmness. Ideal for patients in their 40s and 50s—or anyone seeking a greater level of correction with slightly more downtime.
-
HALO® uses 2940 nm and 1470 nm wavelengths to treat both the skin’s surface and deeper layers. It is particularly effective for addressing sun damage, uneven tone, textural irregularities, and visible signs of aging while stimulating collagen. Think of it as deeper resurfacing paired with comprehensive skin renewal.
-
HALO® involves slightly more downtime than MOXI®, typically three to five days of visible redness as the skin renews. Most patients see meaningful improvement after as few as two treatments, making HALO® an excellent option for achieving and maintaining your best skin year after year.
-
Skin tends to look noticeably clearer, smoother, and more even in tone, with the healthy radiance patients often describe as a natural glow. Because HALO uses two different wavelengths for rejuvenation, results often feel more corrective than BBL or MOXI.
REJUVENATE + TRANSFORM
TRIBRID
Our most comprehensive resurfacing plan for patients seeking maximum correction. Using three wavelengths to treat multiple layers of the skin, U Plan TRIBRID™ addresses pigment, texture, and deeper skin renewal in one highly customizable treatment. Ideal for patients in their 50s and beyond—or anyone looking for our most advanced level of correction.
-
TRIBRID™ combines three wavelengths, each with a distinct purpose: 1927 nm to address visible pigment and brighten the skin, 2940 nm to refine surface texture, and 1470 nm to support deeper renewal. Together, they improve sun damage, uneven tone, rough texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, and overall skin quality.
-
TRIBRID™ begins with a topical numbing cream, while integrated cooling helps keep you comfortable during treatment. Because all three wavelengths can be adjusted independently, the intensity and downtime are customized to your skin and goals. Mild redness and swelling generally improve within three to four days, although visible skin renewal and flaking may continue for up to seven days.
-
You can expect brighter, smoother, more even-looking skin as it renews and collagen production increases. By addressing pigment, texture, and deeper concerns during each session, TRIBRID™ provides our most comprehensive approach to correction and long-term skin renewal.
Micro Laser Peel™
What is Micro Laser Peel™?
The MicroLaser Peel utilizes a beam of light scanned over a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The depth of this treatment can be customized and healing time will vary accordingly. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved evenness in color. Patients often say that it looks as if their skin went from tired to vibrant.
Micro Laser Peel™ FAQs

• Mild wrinkles
• Scars
• Keratosis
• Sun damage (e.g., freckles)
• Pigment irregularities -
Results can be obtained in just one treatment; however, optimal results are achieved with a series of treatments. Dr. Kienstra can personalize a plan based on your specific needs and may choose to combine MicroLaser Peel? with Profractional and/or Forever Young BBL? for even greater results.
-
The area of your skin to be treated will be cleansed and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. The laser handpiece will be positioned above the skin and held in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 30-45 minutes.
-
One of the primary advantages of Micro Laser Peel is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. At its most shallow settings, most people can tolerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. At deeper settings, a topical numbing cream is typically used.
-
Immediately after the treatment you will notice that the skin has a “frosty” appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within the next few days following the treatment. You may experience some redness, mild swelling, and a sensation resembling that of a sunburn.
-
Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 3 to 4 days – an attribute that has given rise to the nickname "the weekend peel."
-
You may be given skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedures, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always sunscreen with SPF 30-50 with zinc-oxide.
-
Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture, and color evenness once the skin heals in approximately 3-4 days.
ProFractional™ Laser Treatments
What are ProFractional™ Laser Treatments?
ProFractional laser treatments improve deeper skin conditions, including wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, and pigmentation irregularities. The intense laser microbeam pinpoints thousands of tiny channels, prompting new production of collagen and elastin. By leaving healthy surrounding tissue, healing time is decreased. This powerful treatment can be used alone or in combination with Forever Young BBL™ and/or MicroLaser Peel™ for even greater results. The procedure is performed in our Springfield, Missouri, office and can be custom tailored to your specific skin conditions.

The area of your skin to be treated will be cleansed and your eyes will be protected with safety sheilds. A laser handpiece will be positioned gently on the skin. When the laser energy is applied, you will hear a rapid succession of snapping sounds. The handpiece will be moved around to adjacent locations until the entire treatment area has been covered. The procedure normally takes 30 to 45 minutes.
-
ProFractional™ therapy is widely regarded as a comfortable procedure, usually tolerated with the use of a topical anesthetic, depending on the depth of treatment.
-
Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness and a sensation resembling sunburn, followed by two to four days of redness and/or peeling, depending on the treatment depth. You will be advised on specific after-treatment care recommendations, which may include analgesics and applications of an ointment to keep the skin hydrated.
-
Complete healing typically occurs within a few days and most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to work and apply makeup three or four days after the treatment. There will likely be some swelling that will subside after several days.
-

As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of ProFractional™ is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 4 to 6 months following your treatment.
Skin Firming/SkinTyte®
What is Skin Firming/SkinTyte®?
SkinTyte™ technology is used to selectively heat the dermal collagen deep in your skin while simultaneously cooling the epidermis (outer layer of skin) for comfort. This treatment provides a small degree of tightening for patients that see very early signs of aging. Most patients require an average of three treatments spaced one month apart. However, because each patient’s skin is different, the required treatment number may vary.
Skin Firming/SkinTyte® FAQs
-
The SkinTyte™ treatment is based on the principal of selective thermolysis and utilizes pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte™ can be provided quickly and comfortably with no downtime.
-
The SkinTyte™ light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, the actual time will depend on the area treated.
-
You may experience some mild redness in the treated area immediately after treatment and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte™ procedure is noninvasive there is no downtime, and you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
-
The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and Dr. Kienstra can personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Dr. Kienstra or your care provider may also combine SkinTyte™ with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

No special skin care regimen is required following treatment. It is recommended that you always sunscreen with SPF 30-50 with zinc-oxide.
